Julie de La Rivière was born in 1737 and died on April 3, 1770. Daughter of the Marquis de La Rivière and Louise-Céleste de La Rivière de Ploeuc , lady-in-waiting to Madame Adélaïde, she married Roch-Gilbert, Marquis de La Fayette , on May 22, 1754. They were the parents of General Marquis de La Fayette , their only son, born at the Château de Chavagnac in Haute-Loire on September 6, 1757, and who died in Paris, on the rue d'Anjou, on May 20, 1834. Your hosts today in Vollore, Michel and Geneviève Aubert La Fayette , are direct descendants in the 6th generation, through Georges-Washington de La Fayette, the General's only son.
