The Château d'Allemagne-en-Provence is a historical site located in Allemagne-en-Provence, Provence, near Manosque and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. It houses:

This remarkable landmark of Provençal history offers the opportunity to discover, in particular, the Roman origin of the name Allemagne-en-Provence, the various stages of construction, the historical events (battle of Allemagne, duels…) which have left their mark on the castle, the park planted with centuries-old trees.
The visit allows you to discover both the exterior of the building and the interiors, as well as our unique collection of Monaco ceramics which mark the route of the castle tour.
A unique collection of Monaco ceramics, grouped by period and workshop, guides visitors through the castle. From the late 19th century to the early 1960s, dozens of workshops created richly colored ceramics on the French Riviera, particularly in Monaco and Vallauris (where ceramics were already being produced in Roman times, though primarily utilitarian pottery). More than a hundred of the most representative pieces are on display, scattered throughout the various rooms and showcased in display cases in the state room.
- As the castle is inhabited all year round, self-guided visits are not possible.

Château d'Allemagne-en-Provence
Allemagne en Provence Originally built by the <strong>Castellane family</strong> , the castle is still inhabited today. The crenellated keep dates from the 12th century. At that time, it was flanked by five defensive towers, linked by a curtain wall and surrounded by a moat. Starting in 1495, François de Castellane added the elegant Renaissance wing and transformed the defensive keep into a residential castle. Inside, a remarkable spiral staircase connects the keep to the Renaissance wing. On the second floor, a magnificent monumental plasterwork fireplace from 1546, supported by two full-length statues, adorns one of the castle's state rooms. <strong>In 1586, the castle was the site of a famous battle</strong> in which the Baron d'Allemagne was victorious, though he did not survive his wounds. Visitors will be able to admire, both inside and outside, all the architectural details (French-style ceilings, mullioned windows, etc.) and discover the traces of the great centuries that have marked the history of the Château.
