Georges-Washington de La Fayette , born in Passy on December 24, 1779, was the only son of General Marquis de La Fayette . He married Émilie d' Estutt de Tracy on June 6, 1802; she was born on October 5, 1780. He died at the Château de La Grange on November 29, 1849; she survived him until December 16, 1860. Georges-Washington and Émilie de La Fayette were the parents of Mathilde de La Fayette, who married Maurice de Pusy , from whom descended Gilbert de Pusy La Fayette , who married Marie-Louise Dumas on July 17, 1900, in Vollore. They are the grandparents of your hosts, Michel and Geneviève Aubert La Fayette , who are delighted to welcome you today to the Château de Vollore.
