Freÿr Castle is a historic residence that has hosted prestigious guests such as Louis XIV , Stanislas Leszczynski , Maria Christina of Austria , and Prince Naruhito . This historically significant place is the setting for memorable events, such as the signing of the Treaty of Freÿr in 1675 and the introduction of coffee to Belgium.
During your visit, you will be able to admire:
- The Dining Room , with its majestic Renaissance fireplace.
- A dream carriage for children from the 18th century, which won first prize at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889.
- Two vestibules , one of which resembles an Italian palace, adorned with canvases by Snyders and frescoes on the ceiling.
- Classical salons and a Rococo chapel , offering an atmosphere that is both serene and joyful.
The castle, with its refined decor and cosmopolitan atmosphere, immerses you in a historical world where elegance and luxury meet.

The castle and its gardens are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. according to the following periods:
- From March 29 to April 30 , Saturdays, Sundays & public holidays
- From May 1st to June 30th , Thursday to Sunday & public holidays
- From July 1st to August 31st , Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays
- From September 1st to November 10th , Saturdays, Sundays & public holidays

Guided tour:
- Adult: €10
- Senior citizen, student, teenager, or member of a group (minimum 20 people): €8
- Free for children up to 12 years old, if accompanied by their parents.

Guided tours on request (outside of opening hours or for exclusive tours):
- Package for the first 20 visitors: €160
- For each additional visitor beyond the 20th: €5.50
Miscellaneous :
- Duration of visits: 60 minutes for the castle; self-guided tour of the gardens with explanatory leaflet.
- Brochures and postcards are available on site.
- The tours are guided by family members or volunteers passionate about the history of Freÿr.
- Foreign cheques are accepted with a surcharge for bank charges (€18.78).

Château et Jardins de Freÿr
Hastière <strong>Le plus latin des châteaux et jardins de Belgique</strong>, avec son air de Versailles au bord de la Meuse ardennaise, rappel étrangement les châteaux de la Loire. Cette demeure Renaissance agrandie en résidence ducale au 17ème et au 18e siècle possède un intérieur raffiné et cosmopolite. Il fut le <strong>séjour d'hôtes royaux</strong> comme Louis XIV, Stanislas Leszynski, Marie-Christine d'Autriche ou encore le Prince Naru Hito. En 1675, le traité historique de Freÿr donna lieu à la première dégustation de café dans le pays. Freÿr est entouré d'un jardin classique de styles variés qui respire profondément la paix et la sérénité et invite à la contemplation et à la méditation. On y trouve la plus vieille orangerie du pays, avec ses <strong>orangers tricentenaires, un labyrinthe de 6 km et un charmant Trianon.</strong>
