Villa Arnaga , the iconic residence of Edmond Rostand, author of the famous Cyrano de Bergerac , invites you to discover its history, architecture, and magnificent gardens. Located in the heart of the Basque Country, this villa combines charm and culture, offering an immersion into the world of this great French playwright.
Description :
Villa Arnaga offers self-guided or guided tours of its residence, an immersive experience lasting approximately one hour that plunges you into the private world of the writer Edmond Rostand. In July and August, enjoy guided tours of the gardens, offered on Mondays at 4:30 pm and Thursdays at 11:00 am. For younger visitors, a discovery trail through the gardens allows them to explore the beauty of the site while having fun.
The villa also hosts a theatre festival in August , temporary exhibitions , and concerts , offering a diverse cultural program throughout the year. Don't miss the gift shop to take home a souvenir of your visit and works inspired by this exceptional writer.

<p><strong>Edmond Rostand</strong> (1868-1918), auteur dramatique majeur de la Belle Époque, est célèbre pour ses œuvres telles que <em>Cyrano de Bergerac</em>, <em>L’Aiglon</em>, <em>Chantecler</em>, <em>Les Romanesques</em>, <em>La Samaritaine</em> ou encore <em>Les Musardises</em>.</p>
<p>En 1900, atteint d’une pleurésie, il découvre Cambo-les-Bains pour s’y soigner. Séduit par le climat et les paysages, il <strong>choisit d’y faire construire sa résidence</strong>. Sur les plans de l’architecte Joseph-Albert Tournaire, naît alors la somptueuse Villa Arnaga, dont les travaux s’achèvent en 1906.</p>
<p>Inspirée à la fois du style néo-Basque et des demeures classiques, <strong>Arnaga est bien plus qu’une maison : c’est une œuvre d’art totale. Décorée par de nombreux artistes réputés</strong>, elle s’ouvre sur de magnifiques jardins à la française et à l’anglaise, soigneusement dessinés et entretenus.</p>
<p>Aujourd’hui, Arnaga est un lieu de mémoire dédié à Edmond Rostand, classé monument historique, et l’un des joyaux patrimoniaux de la région.</p>
