The Parliament of Brittany building is, from a heritage and historical perspective, the landmark monument of the city of Rennes and of Brittany as a whole, thanks to the history it embodies, the quality of its formal presence on the Place Royale that bears its name, and its pictorial decoration, a major example of 17th-century French painting. Burned down in 1994, it has now been restored and is open to the public.
