Escape Game (March 1st to October 22nd): The Mystery of Saint-Jean-de-Luz (additional charge, online booking required) for ages 9 and up. All the guests at a country luncheon in Saint-Jean-de-Luz fall gravely ill, except for the castle's cook. You decide to take advantage of his absence to infiltrate his back kitchen and search for an antidote. The Chamber of Mysteries of Saint-Jean-de-Luz (additional charge, online booking required) for ages 9 and up. 1912. Head chef Barnabé has just been arrested for attempting to poison the guests at a country luncheon. But he managed to send his brother to retrieve the formula for his poison from his room at the castle. The housekeeper agrees to let you in on the condition that you help her clean it. Will you manage to get hold of the formula before her brother arrives? Escape game opening hours:

Urtubie Castle
Saint Jean de Luz Owned by the same family since its construction in 1341, this fortified castle was enlarged in the 16th and 18th centuries and is now a very welcoming Historic Monument, furnished and decorated with refinement.
The stones of Urtubie tell the story of six centuries of Basque Country history. King Louis XI stayed here in 1463, and Louis XIV raised the estate to a viscounty in 1654. In the 19th century, Soult and then Wellington passed through during the Napoleonic Wars.
Its location, 3 kilometers from Saint-Jean-de-Luz and 9 kilometers from Spain, makes it a privileged place whose charm and historical richness invite visitors to explore or stay longer.
The guest rooms are open from April 1st to November 2nd. All the rooms are located in the castle; they have been recently renovated and are fully furnished and decorated with 18th- and 19th-century paintings and furniture. They all have bathrooms equipped with a bathtub and shower, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning.
The 6-hectare grounds include a swimming pool, tennis court, garden, and terrace for enjoying sunny days.
