Exceptional Chateaus & Castles
Our history
The Chantilly Estate is situated in the heart of 7,800 hectares, within one of the largest forests surrounding Paris.
The château houses the Musée Condé, a collection passionately assembled by the Duke of Aumale. It contains exceptional Old Master paintings, including masterpieces by Raphael, Botticelli, Clouet, Poussin, Watteau, Ingres, Delacroix, and others. At the heart of the château, the Library houses 13,000 books, including 1,500 manuscripts and 500 incunabula. But above all, the estate possesses the most precious manuscript in the world: the Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry (15th century)!
The park is unique for the diversity of its gardens: the French formal garden designed by André Le Nôtre in the 17th century, the Hamlet that inspired Marie Antoinette, the 18th-century Anglo-Chinese garden, and the 19th-century English garden.
The Great Stables, a magnificent example of 18th-century architecture, are among the most beautiful in the world. Inside, the Horse Museum explores the relationship between humans and horses, while the 30 horses and team of 8 riders offer equestrian demonstrations and shows year-round.
