Thiron-Gardais Abbey Estate

In the shadow of the majestic Romanesque nave of the church, a vestige of the Abbey founded in the 12th century by Saint Bernard of Ponthieu , founder of the Order of Tiron , magnificent themed gardens flourish. Rich in shapes , colors , and fragrances , these gardens offer a unique immersion into the medieval monastic world.

Opened in the summer of 2006, the Tithe Barn welcomes visitors and recounts the fascinating history of one of the most influential religious orders of the Middle Ages. An interpretive trail guides young and old through the gardens, punctuated by the adventures of Renart, the fox , a mischievous companion who makes the visit fun and educational.
