<p><strong>Acquis par Jacques Cartier</strong> peu avant son troisième voyage au Canada (1541-1542), le manoir de Limoëlou devient sa résidence principale, partagée avec son épouse Catherine des Granches, au détriment de leur demeure malouine située rue La Buhen (actuelle rue de Chateaubriand).</p>
<p>Loué à des paysans à partir du XIXe siècle, le manoir est <strong>restauré en 1984 avec le soutien de la Fondation Macdonald Stewart</strong> et transformé en musée. Fidèlement restituée selon son état d’origine, cette demeure rend hommage à la vie et aux expéditions du <strong>célèbre explorateur malouin.</strong></p>
