Return Policies for Hazardous Materials

General

All products containing flammable, pressurized, corrosive, environmentally harmful, irritant or noxious substances are classified as dangerous goods in the EU.

If transported for commercial purposes, hazardous products may present a higher risk than other items. Although the quantities sold by Chateaux-France are limited and therefore present a relatively low risk during transport, our carriers, as well as our distribution centers, must follow specific rules when handling and transporting them. If you wish to return such items, please follow the instructions below.

Packaging

Whenever possible, use the original packaging for the back. This packaging includes the labeling and packaging formats you need to apply. If your packaging is damaged, use new packaging. For items containing batteries, including lithium batteries, make sure the packaging is strong and rigid. Protect equipment from movement inside the Outdoor packaging, and from accidental activation. Properly close items containing pressurized containers or liquids, or other spillable substances, to prevent leakage during transport. If possible, position the item vertically in the package and secure it against movement. You can use the original filling material or, for example, newspaper.

If you wish to return several items containing hazardous materials, make sure you send them all separately.

Labeling

If you return the item in its original packaging, you do not need to affix a new label.

Please make sure the label is legible and looks like one of these:

Alternatively, print the label and stick it on your parcel.

Carrier

For some products, you may have to pay for the back (e.g. heavy and bulky products or products sold by third-party sellers according to their return policy).

Damaged hazardous products

If you receive a damaged, dangerous product, do not use it and follow the instructions on the product.

Damaged hazardous products, including damaged lithium batteries, are not returnable and must be disposed of at a recycling center. If the battery can be removed from the product, remove it carefully and dispose of it at a suitable recycling center. You can then return the product without the battery. If you cannot remove the damaged battery, or if the item itself is a damaged lithium battery, dispose of it at your nearest recycling center. Contact Customer Service for more information on the recycling center and the steps to follow. Please note that Chateaux-France reserves the right to request proof that the product has been sent to a recycling center. You must therefore ensure that you obtain a receipt from the recycling center.
