Built in 1465 by King Louis XI for his treasurers, the Château de Jallanges is located in the heart of the renowned Vouvray vineyards, surrounded by a 10-hectare park, manicured gardens, and a forest. This historic site is ideal for exploring the Loire Valley region while staying in an authentic Renaissance monument .
Visit the exterior of the castle and its six adjoining furnished salons. Visit the Gaudin Room, belonging to the mistress of Francis I and grandmother of Gabrielle d'Estrées (born in Jallanges). The Gaudin Room is a guest room open to visitors depending on availability. The Banneret (large exhibition hall) and its seven large trompe-l'œil frescoes. The Banneret Room is a reception hall open to visitors depending on availability. The 17th-century chapel, listed as a Historical Monument. The French Renaissance gardens, the rose garden, the Garden of Arts, with artists' exhibitions. The park with its ancient trees. The open-air theater. The largest sculpture in the world dedicated to Saint Martin, designated in March 2022 as a "Cultural Route of Europe".
In the heart of Touraine, just 10 minutes from Tours and Amboise, and less than 40 km from the main Loire castles, the Château de Jallanges is 55 minutes from Paris by TGV.
The estate is bordered by a magnificent French garden, a park where three-hundred-year-old cedars stand, and a listed chapel dating from the 17th century. Furnished and inhabited by the Ferry-Balin family, passionate about French heritage, the château is also a unique place to stay, where history and comfort blend harmoniously.
Since 1984, this family has offered sumptuous guest rooms, allowing guests to enjoy the peace and quiet, the architecture, and the history of the place, all while receiving a warm welcome. You can also sample 47 homemade jams or savor one of 22 wine vinegars flavored with herbs from the kitchen garden. Local artisanal products and antique items are also available for purchase.
On-site, you will also find a 2500 m² tree-lined parking area and access for people with reduced mobility. Enjoy the tranquility and refinement of this private location while discovering this historic monument.
Every first Friday of the month, starting at 9:00 PM, the team at Château de Jallanges - Vouvray organizes a COSTUME BALL AT THE CHÂTEAU with a different theme each month. It's the unmissable event for those who love to party in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
These events, open to the public, are an opportunity to come and have fun in the exceptional setting of a Renaissance castle and to relax in good company in joy and good humor.
July 4, 2025 and September 5, 2025: Costume ball with live concert at the Château, themed "White Party". October 31, 2025: Costume ball at the Château, themed "Halloween". December 31, 2025: New Year's Eve "Bringing In the New Year" Cabaret, fireworks, gourmet meal, dance party.
Dress code required depending on the theme of the evenings.

Bordered by a magnificent French Renaissance garden, a park with three-hundred-year-old cedar trees, and a listed 17th-century chapel, the château is furnished and inhabited by a family passionate about and dedicated to preserving French heritage. Since 1984, this family has been restoring sumptuous guest rooms, lovingly made available to guests who can thus appreciate the tranquility, comfort, architecture, and history of this historic monument, enhanced by the warm welcome of the Ferry-Balin family.
On-site, you can sample one of the 47 homemade jams or enjoy one of the 22 wine vinegars flavored with herbs from the kitchen garden. Local crafts and antiques are also available for purchase. Table d'hôtes (set menu) is available by reservation, organized according to the number of requests. Other activities include hot air balloon rides and horse-drawn carriage rides. Visits to the Banneret de Jallanges and its seven trompe-l'oeil Renaissance frescoes are also offered.
On-site, you will appreciate the guest rooms, the professional organization of our receptions, and the opportunity to visit this privately owned monument. There is a 2,500 m² wooded parking area and is accessible to people with disabilities.
