Jumilhac, gardens inspired by the alchemical quest

The terraced gardens that embellish the southern facade of the Château de Jumilhac have been renovated around two themes emblematic of local culture: Gold and Alchemy.

In keeping with the tradition of French formal gardens, these spaces symbolically evoke the quest for knowledge and the understanding of the mysteries of the universe, as interpreted by alchemists. Through a carefully considered floral and plant arrangement, each detail reveals a facet of this ancient art.

Water, a fundamental element of alchemical transformation and a symbol of life and purity, rises in the form of an obelisk of silver droplets, creating a link between Earth and clear cerulean sky, between the material and the spiritual.

With its enchanting setting and esoteric dimension, the Château de Jumilhac invites you on an exploration where nature and alchemy meet to offer a unique and fascinating experience.

Prices and opening hours

The castle and its gardens are open all year round, according to the following schedule:

• From June 1st to September 30th: every day from 10am to 7pm, late opening on Tuesdays from 9:30pm to 11:30pm (+ Thursdays in July and August).
• From srping break to May 31st and from October 1st to All Saints' Day break: every day from 2pm to 6pm.
• From All Saints' Day break to spring break: Sundays from 2pm to 5pm.
• Visits agreed beforehand are possible all year round.

Prices – castle + gardens:

• Individual adult tickets: 10.50 euros
• Reduced price (students up to 25 years old, seniors): 8.50 euros
• Children (5 to 17 years old inclusive): 5.50 euros
• Adult Groups: 8.50 euros
• Schoolchildren: 5 euros
• Evening visits (June to September only): + €1. Evening tours (reservations required: +33 6 16 22 97 69) every Tuesday at 9:30 pm and every Thursday in July and August.
