Filming and photography at Bazaneix Castle

Just a short walk from the ancient town of Ussel, the medieval castle of Bazaneix awaits you, nestled in its verdant setting and surrounded by a water-filled moat.

The only access to the islet where the old fortress stands is a fixed two-arched bridge. Originally a drawbridge, it withstood numerous attacks during the Hundred Years' War, when both the English and French coveted Bazaneix for its strategic location.

Remodeled over the centuries, the castle has survived to this day in its entirety.

Its distinctive architecture gives it a unique character within the Limousin region's fortified towns.

Threatened with demolition just a few years ago, its owners and the "Mémoire du Bazaneix" association undertook the challenging task of restoring it.

7-hectare park, horse stalls (6), bell tower with two square towers. Authentic castle. It can be used as an exterior location for film shoots. The interior features a vaulted hall, a guardroom, and a rib-vaulted oratory (safe).
