Things to discover during your visit to the Château de Cheverny:

The Grand Salon
This elegant drawing room is one of the most iconic rooms in the château, where the Marquise de Montglas and the Duchess of Montpensier, known as "La Grande Mademoiselle," used to meet. She called Cheverny an "enchanted palace." This drawing room, decorated on commission by the Marquise de Montglas, houses some of the château's finest paintings.

The King's Chamber
One of the most lavishly decorated rooms in the castle, with ceilings and wainscoting adorned with mythological legends. Be sure to admire the 17th-century tapestries, woven by the Paris workshops, that grace this room.

The Yellow Room
Part of the private apartments in the west wing, opened to the public in 1985, this room offers a glimpse into the private life of the castle. It houses a fine collection of 18th and 19th century furniture.

The Library
An elegant room, ideally proportioned, with several hundred perfectly preserved books. A place of calm and culture.

The Armoury
The largest room in the castle, which houses an impressive collection of armor and weapons from the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries. Don't miss the remarkable 17th-century Gobelins tapestry that adorns this room either.

A visit to the Château de Cheverny, for adults and children alike:

Mystery at Cheverny: To make the visit fun, children aged 7 to 14 receive a free booklet at the castle entrance. It's up to them to investigate and help the castle's clockmaker, because a mysterious phenomenon is disrupting all the clocks in the castle! From room to room, the children's attention is drawn to decorative elements , so they can find clues that will lead them to unmask the culprit behind this curious phenomenon!

Life-size Lego® sculptures: In the castle rooms and the Trophy Room, pieces of furniture, animals, works of art, and even models of the current and former castles have been created using Lego bricks. See if you can find them: there are 13 in total!

The Secrets of Marlinspike Hall: Find yourself in the Adventures of Tintin! In 1942, Hergé drew inspiration from a tourist brochure about Cheverny to design Marlinspike Hall. Created in partnership with the Hergé Foundation, this exhibition covers 700 m² and takes visitors inside the rooms of Marlinspike Hall.

Dining options during your visit to the Château de Cheverny:

The Orangerie restaurant at the castle welcomes you in an exceptional setting, for a moment of indulgence with a view of the castle: artisanal ice cream, pastries, savory tarts, refreshing drinks... Lunch is served from 12pm to 2pm

The Kiosk offers takeaway options (sandwiches, cold drinks, ice cream) and a shaded terrace. It is open from 11:30 am to 5 pm.

Depending on the season, opening hours vary to allow you to fully enjoy your visit:

Ticket office access times (castle closes 30 minutes later):

• From January 1st to March 31st, and from October 1st to December 31st: from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm without interruption.
• From April 1st to September 30th: from 9:15 am to 6:00 pm without interruption, (until 6:30 pm from July 1st to August 31st).
• The exhibition "The Secrets of Moulinsart" is open at the same times as the estate, but closes from 12:45 to 13:45.
