Villesavin Castle

It was on the site of a former manor that belonged, at the beginning of the 14th century, to Guy de Chatillon, Count of Blois, that the Château de Villesavin was built by Jean le Breton, Lord of Villandry and Villesavin. The latter was the finance secretary to King Francis I and was responsible for overseeing and paying for the construction of Chambord . The work was carried out by the same French and Italian master builders and craftsmen who created the great royal residences and has survived four centuries in almost perfect condition.
