The Gardens of Viels-Maisons

Beside an old church, surrounded by a 17th-century park and an early 19th-century château, lies a succession of gardens designed by landscape architect Sonja Gauron: a priest's garden, a garden of roses and medicinal plants, an English garden in a harmonious blend of colors, then a white garden, a romantic garden, a water garden, a wild garden, hydrogena trees, rhododendrons, and an analemmatic sundial. The Garden Days also attract garden enthusiasts for whom garden objects—statuary, topiary, benches, vases, gazebos—complement the plants. A shop and refreshments are available. Located between La Ferté-sous-Jouarre and Montmirail on the D933.
