La Sayette Castle and Park

A 15th-century fortified house (listed as a historical monument) comprising a central building flanked by two towers, enlarged in the 17th century and again in the 19th century with the addition of a neo-Gothic chapel featuring eleven stained-glass windows by Lobin and Fournier. The 3-hectare park, created during the Renaissance and redesigned in the 17th century, includes a courtyard garden with a well and a bowling green shaded by century-old trees. The formal garden is punctuated with boxwood spheres, a seven-faced sundial, gates and railings, a kitchen garden with walls decorated with trellises and espaliers in the stained-glass style, and a hornbeam hedge of over one hectare.
