Rochambeau Castle

Exceptional Chateaus & Castles

Our history

Originally, it was a 16th-century manor house with a gabled roof and mullioned windows. In the 18th century, Marshal de Rochambeau added two pavilions with mansard roofs, flanking it.

To create a unified whole, he reduced the height of the gabled roof and removed the mullioned windows.

He died there in 1807.

The château is built along the Loir River opposite Villiers-sur-Loir.
