Our history
Just 15 kilometers north of Angers, this elegant 15th-century fortress was built by Louis XI's Grand Treasurer, ostensibly to protect his family… and perhaps to preserve the philosophers' mysterious secret. Still inhabited today, it invites you to discover its richly furnished and decorated stately apartments. Among its marvels, the striking coffered ceiling painted with allegories particularly captures the attention, offering a unique glimpse into Renaissance art and thought.
