Medieval Castle of Oricourt

A large, double-walled castle on the plains, built in the 12th century. Visitors can explore its medieval military architecture, complemented by a 15th-century residence, tall square towers, curtain walls, deep moats, cellars, halls, bakery, well, former stables, and an imposing dovecote. The best-preserved fortified castle in Franche-Comté, it offers educational opportunities and boasts unique architecture. Don't miss the Château en Fête (Castle Festival), a historical celebration held in early July, featuring numerous stalls, encampments, artisans, and merchants throughout the castle and the surrounding village (showcasing history from the Middle Ages to the 19th century).
