Jacques-Emile Blanche Museum
Exceptional Chateaus & Castles
Our history
A portraitist of illustrious figures for 60 years, Jacques-Emile Blanche (1861-1942) lived in Offranville from 1902 until his death. He spent every summer at the Manoir du Tot, where he entertained celebrities from the arts, literature, and politics.
Deeply attached to his adopted town, he donated a collection of paintings to create a museum. His wish was finally fulfilled in 1995 with the opening of a large space entirely dedicated to the painter and some of his friends, in the attic of a former 18th-century cart shed, now known as "La Maison du Parc" (The Park House).
The museum houses—in addition to paintings—his complete literary works, memorabilia, letters, photographs, and more. All the techniques and themes explored by the artist are represented: portraits, still lifes, genre scenes, and seascapes.
The building is surrounded by the "William Farcy" floral park, which features an exceptional collection of old roses, themed gardens, 2500 varieties of plants...
