Carved on the façade of the Hôtel des Portugais, this servant girl with a pitcher reveals a tantalizing knee to entice the customer...

This fine 15th-century house was an inn where "foreigners," Portuguese merchants and shipowners (exclusively by royal privilege!) gathered while stopping over in the port. Feasts were held in the common room, while rooms were upstairs, sheltered by stone walls and timber framing. This is now the Priory Museum, whose collections bear witness to the rich history of Harfleur.
