Cork Museum

Founded by former cork makers from the town, this museum, unique in France, celebrates what was, until fifty years ago, the village's main industry. Initially housed in an old house in the town center, it has since moved to its current premises, which also house the Tourist Information Office and an exhibition hall upstairs.

This museum traces the history of cork, from the cork oak tree to the cork stopper and its many uses.
It showcases the tools and machines that the locals used to strip the bark from the cork oaks in the forest, process the cork, and produce the stoppers. Cork, this central element of the town's heritage, has inspired and continues to inspire many local and national artists, including Ludovic Massé and Eric Marsian, who have made it their preferred medium.
