Murol Castle

More than any other castle in Auvergne, Murol truly deserves the name "fortified castle." Its position atop a hill overlooking the valleys, the scale and robustness of its fortified system blending seamlessly with the hard basalt rocks, and the sheer mass of its walls proclaim it. From the 12th to the 17th centuries, from the Murol family to the d'Estaing family, this fortress allows us to trace the history of these families.

With the new troupe of actors, "Les Paladins du Sancy," visitors can enjoy a new show with new characters, new sets, and a new staging, both within the magical walls of the medieval castle and in the heart of the town of Murol, where horsemen and peasants will wander.
