Our history

It is the union of art and strength, of power and elegance. The fortress was built in the 11th century by Fulk Nerra, and the castle in 1483 by Imbert de Bastarnay, the renowned advisor to the kings. In 1849, it captivated a Polish nobleman, who restored it and endowed it with a magnificent collection of works of art: Renaissance paintings, pieces of goldsmithing, bas-reliefs by Pierre Vaneau... which can be admired today.
