Miolans Castle
Exceptional Chateaus & Castles
Our history
Miolans, perched high on the mountainside, was a formidable fortress controlling the passes through the Combe de Savoie valley.
Halfway between Chambéry and Albertville, the castle belonged to the powerful Chevron-Villette family, who owned numerous castles and fortified houses in the region. Miolans was purchased by a bourgeois family during the annexation of 1860.
The current castle is divided into two main parts: the newer section, largely dating from the 19th century, is the residence of the current owners; the older castle, part of which is in ruins, is no longer inhabited but can be visited.
