Mérindol

Mérindol is a sun-drenched village , nestled between the Luberon and the Durance valley . A land of hospitality and culture , its landscape is shaped by vineyards , olive groves and Provençal garrigue .

But Mérindol also bears the imprint of history. It was a place of persecution , notably against the Waldensians in the 16th century. Today, the Waldensian Memorial , erected at the entrance to the ruins of the old village , watches over this painful memory and invites both contemplation and encounter .
