Our history
In the heart of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, this elegant 17th-century residence, built in 1643 by the wealthy shipowner Johanais de Lohobiague , bears witness to the splendor of the great Basque families. It was here that the young Louis XIV stayed for 40 days in 1660, on the occasion of the signing of the Treaty of the Pyrenees and his marriage to the Infanta Maria Theresa of Spain . Magnificently preserved, the house still belongs to the descendants of its founder and welcomes visitors eager to discover an authentic interior steeped in royal history.
