Our history
Built in the early 18th century by the architect Germain Boffrand for Duke Leopold I, the Château des Ducs de Lorraine later became the residence of King Stanislas. This jewel of classical architecture is directly inspired by Versailles, both in its elegant façade and its sumptuous French-style gardens.
The castle now houses a remarkable museum showcasing delicate earthenware, refined tapestries, 18th-century drawings, and superb Art Nouveau works.
