Our history
Strolling through the castle allows you to relive the echoes of centuries past. We invite you to experience history within our fortress, listed as an exceptional heritage site of Wallonia. A journey through time awaits, from the cellars to the keep!
Explore its 32 furnished and decorated rooms at your leisure, revealing three themes throughout your visit:
The Museum of the Life of the Lords of Lavaux in the 17th century, showcasing how they lived in their sumptuous residence.
The cellars present typical rural life in the Famenne region with everyday objects, customs, and festivals from the late 19th century.
On the first floor, the Museum of Nature and Hunting unfolds with an impressive collection of taxidermied animals, demonstrating the rich wildlife of the Famenne.
Children can visit the castle dressed as knights or princesses.
Continue your visit by exploring the wetland area. This one-kilometer walk includes the pond, the marsh, and the meadow. This ecological zone has been reconstituted in order to recreate an ecosystem typical of our Famenne landscapes as they were at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
