Lantenay Castle

The Château de Lantenay was built in 1655 on the outskirts of a charming village. Having undergone modifications, particularly in the early 18th and 19th centuries, the château retains many distinctive architectural features. On the ground floor, reserved for service areas, the bread oven and the large wine cellar are noteworthy. Its magnificent 17th-century spiral staircase and its Italian-inspired pink stone terrace staircase are remarkable and listed as historical monuments. Between 1700 and 1740, Antoine Bouhier laid out formal French gardens around the château, now replaced by a vast landscaped park . However, a large 45-meter-long wall remains, enclosing a nymphaeum in its center, preceded by basins , which supports a large balustraded terrace, also listed as a historical monument. Since its acquisition in 2021, the purpose of the place has been to honor history while making it relevant for the future, sustainable, dynamic, both deeply rooted in the local community and welcoming.
