Our history
Built against the old fortifications of a bailiwick of the Bishopric of Strasbourg called Dachstein, this residence was constructed between 1746 and 1750 by the architect Massol, as part of an extension of the village's royal nurseries intended for the cultivation of mulberry trees for silkworm breeding and processing . Of this original purpose, the Magnanerie, also known as the New Castle or Hervé Castle, retains only a plaque located above the door leading to the bridge spanning the moat.
