Château de Laàs Estate
Exceptional Chateaus & Castles
Our history
In a 12-hectare park, within a former barony in Béarn, a 17th-century manor house shelters one of the finest collections of decorative arts in Aquitaine. This heritage is dominated by Flemish art, Napoleonic memorabilia, and above all, the priceless Book of Hours of Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy.
The guided tour will introduce you to Aubusson tapestries, paintings by Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun, Bruegel, Rubens, and Fragonard, as well as porcelain, earthenware, and furniture.
A large park, with centuries-old trees, offers a space for play and discovery, inviting you to stroll and explore. French-style gardens with reflecting pools and flowerbeds end in a terrace from which the view plunges into a verdant setting with the Gave d'Oloron flowing at the foot, the hills on the other bank and in the distance, as a backdrop, the peaks of the Pyrenees chain.
