Gy Castle and Farm

Originally a fortified house dating from the late 14th century, of which the round tower remains, this castle underwent various expansions over the centuries. However, it was between the Napoleonic era and the annexation of Savoy to France, in the first half of the 19th century—a period known as the Sardinian era—that the castle's facades, interior decoration, and gardens, crisscrossed by waterfalls, were redesigned in a somewhat romantic style, clearly influenced by Italy. The interior features, among other things, a series of wood-paneled salons.
Views of Mont Blanc and Lake Annecy. The facades, roofs, some interiors, and the gardens have been listed as historical monuments (ISMH) for 25 years.
