Our history
Between Paris and the Picardy Coast, 10 minutes from the A16 motorway and Amiens, this 17th-century private "brick and stone" château, with its 14th-century tower, is an enormous fortress that stands in the village, overlooking the Picardy plateau.
It was built about a century before the Château de Rambures.
Unfortunately, at Flesselles, the château was captured and recaptured by the armies that roamed Picardy for several centuries, and it was demolished during the 17th century, with only one of its powerful round towers remaining standing.
In the 18th century, after the de Bray family acquired the seigneury, a new château, this time a pleasure residence, was built adjoining the ruins of the previous one. It survived the revolutionary years unscathed, and in the 19th century, the tenacity of the Marquis de Chevigné transformed it once again into a magnificent residence, with a stunning parkland planted with the rarest species of trees.
This new hour of glory would, however, be short-lived: the de Chevigné line would die out for lack of an heir.
