Ecouen Castle - National Renaissance Museum

The National Museum of the Renaissance was born from André Malraux's desire, in 1969, to provide a harmonious setting for the Renaissance collections then held in storage at the Cluny Museum.
Built in the 16th century, the Château d'Écouen, whose architecture is almost entirely intact and whose decor is partially preserved, was the ideal setting.
From the prestigious tapestry of David and Bathsheba to the painted fireplaces, and including sculptures, furniture, ceramics, glassware, and goldsmithing, the museum offers a comprehensive overview of the French and European Renaissance in its ever-evolving diversity.
