Creully Castle

Located a few kilometers from the D-Day landing beaches, the medieval castle of Creully is one of the most important in Calvados after those of Caen and Falaise. Its unusual architecture reflects the numerous transformations it underwent from the ^12th to the ^19th century.

Its fortress-like appearance, with its moat, ramparts, and machicolations, contrasts sharply with the Renaissance turret on the facade. The stables and the exceptional Romanesque hall are reminders of the presence of the great barons who succeeded one another in Creully for several centuries.

Within the castle, the radio museum displays 20th ^- century civilian and military radios. Texts, films, and artifacts illustrate the evolution of communication methods and the importance of Creully-sur-Seulles in the development of war reporting.
