Château des Bories

Less than a kilometer northeast of Antonne, on the banks of the Isle River, stands the château, surrounded by moats formerly fed by the river.

It comprises a main building oriented east-west, flanked by a square tower to the south and two round towers to the northeast and northwest.

It has been a listed historical monument since 1974.

Construction of the château began in 1494 for Jeanne de Hautefort, widow of Jean de Saint-Astier, on the remains of an earlier stronghold.

The château was besieged several times during the Wars of Religion and later during the Fronde.

It offers large grassy terraces suitable for tents.

Any event is subject to a customized study.
