Camou Castle

Built on a mound dating from the 11th century, this 16th-century monument has undergone significant restoration. Rural and agricultural life is evoked in the ground-floor room through the display of antique tools and an explanation of sharecropping.
The spiral staircase in the turret then leads visitors to the upper floor, where the history of the Lords of Camou in the Kingdom of Navarre and the Gassion family from 1635 to 1791 is recounted. Also on display is an original collection of working models created from notes and sketches by Leonardo da Vinci and Francesco de Giorgio; the top floor offers a panoramic view of the site, including the outer bailey, the Borda house, and the church.
