Our history
The CAIRN (Archaeological Center for Initiation and Research on the Neolithic) is a living, demonstrative museum. Activities take place on 3 hectares of grounds in a green setting, 20 minutes from Les Sables d'Olonne and La Tranche-sur-Mer. Outdoors, on 3 hectares, you can see a dolmen under construction, flint knapping, fire-making, stone polishing, and demonstrations of ancient cultures.
New this year: a wooden house with cob walls and a reed roof. Inside, in a 750 m² space, you'll find an exhibition on Prehistory in the Vendée region, models, and a video room.
