Château du Bois Cornillé

The origins of the Château du Bois Cornillé date back to 1475, when Pierre Landais, treasurer to Francis II (Duke of Brittany), rebuilt an old manor house, likely dating from the 13th century, for his mother. This residence was acquired in 1832 by an ancestor of the current owners. Architects Jules and André Mellet undertook numerous embellishments, giving the property a medieval appearance. Landscape architects Buhler and André created a formal French garden that extends into a setting of woods, ponds, and meadows, transforming this residence into a grand 19th-century château, a testament to its era, its culture, and its aspirations.
