Château Les Aygues
Exceptional Chateaus & Castles
Our history
The guided tour lasts between 30 and 45 minutes. Visitors will see the Grand Gallery, the Queens' Chamber, the Dining Room, and the Blue Salon, which displays numerous mementos of the Bourbons and the reigning families of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, linked to the history of the Queens of Spain and Prince Lubomirski.
The Château des Aygues houses an interesting collection of Chinese ceramics and porcelain from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, representing a thousand years of Chinese history. The collection is presented as a tribute to Isabella II, who reigned in the 19th century over a part of the Far East (the Philippines), and as part of the historical Ivory and Spice Route, whose navigators paved the way to the Orient.
Celadons, white Chinese porcelain, blue and white porcelain, bisque porcelain, monochrome porcelain, Famille Verte, Famille Rose, Mille Fleurs porcelain, and pieces from the East India Company accompany visitors on their tour.
