Trizay Abbey

Founded at the end of the 11th century, the priory of Saint John the Evangelist, known as "Trizay Abbey", was dependent on the powerful Abbey of La Chaise-Dieu, in Auvergne.

Listed as a historical monument , it was restored in the 1990s. The site retains remarkable features , including its octagonal church, the chapter house with its polylobed arches, the refectory, and the former dormitories adorned with murals. Since opening to the public, the abbey has housed a contemporary art center . Throughout the year, the abbey offers a variety of activities to discover this monument in a new light: escape games, guided tours, creative workshops, a crafts festival, a plant festival, and more.
