Our history
In the heart of the Vallespir region, the Romanesque town of Arles-sur-Tech is home to the oldest Benedictine abbey founded in Catalonia. A thousand-year-old witness to faith and history, it contains the first Gothic cloister in Roussillon and the mysterious Holy Tomb, from which water of unexplained origin has flowed for centuries. The legend of Saints Abdon and Sennen still watches over this place of profound belief and serenity.
