Princes' Vegetable Garden
The Pheasantry Park, designed by André Le Nôtre for the Grand Condé, was revived as the Princes' Kitchen Garden in 2002. A bucolic stroll leads through the fantastic tropical garden, the oriental and romantic gardens, as well as the formal French garden, extending into the flower-filled kitchen garden and 40 plots of medicinal and culinary herbs.
In memory of its origins, this park also houses a pheasantry and, to the delight of children, a collection of rare chickens and pigeons, a parakeet aviary, sheep, pigs, goats, and of course, Séraphin the donkey. Throughout its opening season, the park becomes the setting for various activities where children become the garden's participants.
