Discover the fascinating history of a medieval Breton manor at Château du Plessis-Josso. This exceptional place immerses you in the daily life of a lordly manor, from its functions to its means of defense.
Description of your visit to the castle:
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to discover several historical areas of the castle:
- The bedroom of the old 14th-century fortified house
- The 15th-century upstairs room , the main living area for the lady of the castle and her children
- The 17th-century state bedroom , with its carved oak alcove
The castle is also renowned for its many kitchens, including:
- 14th-century kitchen , with its butcher shop
- A 16th-century manor kitchen , with its paving and sink
- 17th-century kitchen , equipped with a spit and a vegetable garden, not forgetting the lime kiln, the bread oven and the large cellar
The park, ideal for a stroll, will allow you to walk around the pond and even try your hand at fishing!
Don't miss the Gothic main door with its archivolts and the large 15th-century lower hall , where meetings, administrative activities and celebrations took place, with its credence table, monumental fireplace and wall cupboard.

- Every day from July 14th to August 31st, from 2pm to 6:30pm
- Saturday and Sunday during Heritage Days
- Group visits :
- Available on request year-round for groups of 15 people or more
- Tour duration : Approximately 60 minutes, guided tours inside and outside

- Classic visit :
- The entrance fee is €2 per person (free for under 18s).
- Group visits: On request, all year round, for groups of 15 people or more, planned in advance. Prices on request.
- School visits: Special program, on request all year round.

<p>Témoin de l’autorité féodale en Bretagne, ce château fut le siège d’une importante seigneurie dotée de droits de justice, avec crédence, prison et salle d’audience. L’intérieur dévoile un rare panorama architectural, du Moyen Âge à l’époque classique : imposantes cheminées, chambre d’apparat, cuisine du XIVe siècle aux murs épais et sa jumelle du XVIIe siècle, équipée d’un tournebroche et d’un potager en pierre.</p>
<p>Un lieu vivant, riche d’histoire, où chaque salle murmure encore les récits de son passé seigneurial.</p>
