The nature reserve can only be visited as part of the guided tour program (2 hours ).
Visit arrangements:
The nature reserve is not freely accessible ; visits are conducted with a member of the educational team. Tours begin at the Marais Poitevin Nature Areas Centre (next to the church of Saint-Denis-du-Payré) at the indicated times, with a screening of the 18-minute film "The 4 Seasons of the Reserve" by Philippe Garguil (Please arrive a little early to purchase tickets).
Useful information:
- The nature reserve is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
- The best times of day to visit are in the morning or late afternoon, due to lighting conditions.
- Dogs are not allowed in the nature reserve.
- 18 telescopes are available to the public in the observatory.
Opening hours and prices for visits:
The Saint-Denis-du-Payré Nature Reserve is open according to the following schedule: From March to June : Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. July and August : from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm (Monday to Friday) . From October to December : Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 am to 12 pm . The reserve is closed during the month of September, on May 1st , as well as on December 24th, 25th, 31st, and January 1st .

- Children under 7 years old: Free

- Adult Migration Card (annual, non-transferable, valid only during opening periods) €32.50

Réserve Naturelle de Saint-Denis-du-Payré
Saint-Denis-du-Payré La Réserve Naturelle accueille sur ses prairies humides protégées environ 120 espèces d'oiseaux sauvages par an. Ils trouvent sur place les conditions naturelles indispensables à leur survie. Venez les découvrir au travers d'une visite qui débutera à la Maison de la Réserve dans le village (diaporama, muséographie sur les zones humides, belvédère).
Vous pourrez ensuite vous rendre sur le site où un sentier sur pilotis vous mènera à l'observatoire équipé de longues-vues et de sièges. Un guide naturaliste vous y attendra (accès aux personnes à mobilité réduite).
