Site description:
Upon arrival, the Château de Loches immerses you in a medieval and prison-like world. Visitors can explore a variety of historical sites , such as the governor's residence , the Louis XI tower , the torture chamber , the graffiti room , the dungeons , and the underground passages . These features bear witness to the castle's military and prison uses throughout the centuries.

The barbican , the fortifications and the medieval garden with its pergola , lawn benches and living willow barriers , also offer an insight into the architecture and layout typical of the period.

The Royal Lodgings , located in the heart of the castle, is one of the main attractions, with architectural elements dating back to the medieval and Renaissance periods.

Opening hours and prices for visits:
The Château de Loches is open all year round , every day, except for December 25th and January 1st .
The visiting hours are as follows:

• 9:30 am - 5:00 pm: in low season - from November to February
• 9:30 am - 6:00 pm: March, April, September, October
• 9:30am - 7:00pm: during peak season from May to August
