Grand-Pressigny Prehistory Museum - Cultural Visits
A must-see site in Grand Pressigny: what to see and do at the Museum of Prehistory.
The Grand-Pressigny Prehistory Museum invites you to delve into ancient history.
3,000 years before our era, the south of Touraine was home to one of the largest flint knapping sites in Western Europe, whose products were exported beyond the current borders of France.
Discover the past of Touraine through an impressive collection of objects dating from the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods , as well as paleontological pieces.
Among the most remarkable objects in the collection are the large flint blades cut in the Grand-Pressigny region at the end of the Neolithic period, which testify to the exceptional know-how of prehistoric populations.
A visit to the museum allows you to explore the evolution of humanity through the ages, in a unique and enriching setting.
